From My Most Recent Trip

Not Dead...Yet

Hey guys! So the past week has been super crazy busy which is why I haven't posted the Austin video from the other weekend or the vlog that I did during the week...sorry. My schedule got pretty crazy with side jobs and chilling at Starbucks while doing said sidework so now you know why. Tonight I'll be working on videos though, promise :)

Anyway, beyond that not much going on here. Hopefully I'll have something noteworthy to post soon

My First in a While

Well folks, in case you hadn't noticed...today...is Valentine's Day. And it is my first one in I can't remember how long that I have spent single... to be honest it is a strange sensation to not have someone to buy gifts for...but at the same time it is strangely liberating... I can't quiet describe.

 I got up this morning, before my alarms mind you, feeling quiet refreshed...you see I spent another weekend in Austin with family...it was incredible to say the least. We did absolutely nothing but sit around at the house and yet I still had such an incredible time. In fact I hadn't had that much fun since...well the weekend prior and before that was 30 Seconds to Mars... I dunno there is just something about that place that is just so refreshing...so refreshing in fact that even the 8hrs total driving to and from did nothing to change my mood. In fact, if nothing else, those 4 hrs travel each leg serve as a wonderful time for reflection and enjoyment of music. I love it. Not too mention the countryside is lovely. If I'm not careful this is going to become a weekly thing...not that that would be a bad thing...except maybe on my pocketbook, I suppose I could cut out a couple games a month :P

Expect a vlog from this past weekend to be coming soon, I have a bunch of footage to go through and two unrelated videos to make so it might take another night or too.

Sandwich's and Conversations

So tonight I had the pleasure of hanging out with my good friend Jake. Earlier in the week I messaged him saying we needed to hang out, since we hadn't in quite some time. Since we did some photos together with his brother-in-law at Wreaths Across America in December. So, he messaged me and asked if Thursday would be a good night to meet up. I said yes and that was that.

Fast forward to tonight and I'm waiting inside the local Potbelly's (love this place, welcome back Conan!) with my camera bag in hand. Now, I didn't know what we were going to end up doing tonight so I went out without my laptop and just took my camera bag, not knowing if we would meet up have dinner and then head out to take some photos or just chill. The latter ended up happening and we stayed there at the restaurant talking about everything from how YouTube is revolutionizing how we consume media to photography and then videography and business... not once did I take out the video camera to record any of our conversations...I regret this decision now as it would have made for a fantastic Vlog...oh well. We met up at 5 and it wasn't until 8 that we finally parted way. I look forward to our next night of dialog with anticipation and camera in hand.

Squidbillies

What's up guys?

So not a whole bunch happening today... spent a good deal of my free time after work running a couple of errands. It was a nice change of pace from coming home and chillin out watching YouTube videos all night. I ended up taking care of an issue with the bank and getting my haircut...which if you've seen any of my recent videos...I needed one...bad

After I finished up with my errands, I headed out to Friday's with a buddy of mine that I'd been meaning to hang out with for a while. We had a great time catching up and afterward we headed over to his place to play a couple demos (bulletstorm looks awesome btw) and watch some episodes of Squidbillies on teh big screen... now, if you know me, you'd know that I have been deeply opposed to Squidbillies for a while now...but that judgement was based on observation of show through it's commercials...I figured it was time I stopped knocking the show till I tried it. I'm going to honestly say that after tonight, Squidbillies is pretty damn funny and I'll be adding it to my list of shows to watch and catch up on.

After that it was time to pack up and head home for the night. Now I didn't take any video today due to a failure on my part to bring my camera with me AND my phone was dying the entire time I was out...so it was sort of a balance of have video or have a way to communicate with people.

Dukidoll

So I was talking to my brother and sister earlier and my bro sent me a text message talking about the "In Flames" album coming out in May...well he also added an emoticon to the  message that set off a whole different series of  texts with my Sis about it. The emoticon in question is simply this "\m/(O.o)\m/" which if looked at carefully appears to be a deranged metalhead throwing up "the horns" 

My sis and I agreed that it would make for an epic  logo for a metal band...but she didn't know what to call the band  and said something to the effect of "the artists formerly unknown as dukidoll" to which I responded that I thought the little guy would look good "crowning" the top of the letters to the band name... I dunno...what do you guys think.

Random Trip to Austin

So, Saturday evening my good friend Kayla and I decided to take a random trip to Austin. While we were there we visited my brother and sisters and ended up driving all around the place just taking in the scenery. It was a really refreshing and relaxing trip and was definitely something that I was needing. Here's the video I threw together of a random detour we took while I was there...
